Annual Leadership Symposium

Held September 20-22, 2007 at Pointe South Mountain Resort, the 2007 NCCHC Leadership Symposium focused on “A NEW VISION for Community Colleges: Latinos in Leadership Roles.” Over 175 attendees took advantage of general sessions, informative breakouts, exhibits and networking.

Highlights:

• A great registration area including exhibits and refreshments. Each attendee received a tote bag for materials that were taken home and used for other purposes (we hope!).

Anna Solley, NCCHC Board Member and Phoenix College President, in conversation. Phoenix College was our primary host college within the Maricopa Community Colleges

• Presidents Opening Reception hosted at the San Jose Museum of Art with fabulous marimba music by Maria Monzon and intriguing exhibitions.

• An opening keynote presentation: A NEW VISION FOR LATINO/A LEADERSHIP IN COMMUNITY COLLEGES presented by, Dr. Jose A. Vicente, President, North Campus, Miami Dade College.

• 22 incredible breakout sessions on a variety of pertinent topics.

• A panel presentation: LEADING AND SUCCEEDING IN COMMUNITY COLLEGES; FROM THE VIEWPOINT OF NCCHC FELLOWS
